Šią vasarą į pasiūlymą atlikti praktiką Lietuvos teisės institute (toliau – LTI) atsiliepė gausus būrys jaunų žmonių – net 28 besimokantys įvairiose Lietuvos aukštosiose mokyklose, o keletas jų į LTI atvyko net iš JAV. Būsimieji specialistai iki metų pabaigos skirtingu metu darbuosis įvairiuose LTI skyriuose.
Iš JAV – gilinti žinių
Neringa Liutikaitė penkiolika metų gyvena JAV. Dabar ji Vašingtone studijuoja politikos mokslus bei prancūzų kalbą. Pagal JAV Lietuvių bendruomenės organizuojamą programą LISS šiemet ji vasarą vieši Lietuvoje ir atlieka praktiką LTI.
„Mano abu tėvai Lietuvoje baigė teisės mokslus. Mane taip pat domina ši sritis, bet JAV nėra galimybės studijuoti teisės bakalauro studijose“, – pasakoja Neringa.
Mergina praktiką atlieka Teisinės sistemos tyrimo skyriuje, kur talkina dr. Agnei Limantei įgyvendinant tarptautinį projektą.
„Kol kas labai džiaugiuosi savo praktika – įdomios užduotys, visi labai draugiški. Jaučiuosi, kad būsiu pamačiusi dalelę teisininkų pasaulio. Manau, kad praktika LTI būtų naudinga ne tik teisę studijuojantiems, bet ir tiems, kurie tiesiog domisi teise ar susijusiomis temomis ir nori įgyti profesinės patirties“, – sako Neringa.
LTI – atspirtis siekiant savo tikslų
Dar viena praktikantė iš JAV – Laura O’Meara. Jos svajonė JAV tapti Aukščiausiojo Teismo teisėja. Dabar namuose ji mokosi teisininkų mokykloje ir savo kelią norėtų pradėti nuo darbo prokurore, tad šią vasarą ieškojo galimybės praktikuotis teisės srityje ir taip atsidūrė Lietuvos teisės institute.
Praktika jai leidžia gilintis į Lietuvos ir JAV įstatymų skirtumus, o sukauptos žinios ir projektai, kuriuose Laura talkina LTI mokslininkams, leis sukaupti žinių, kurias mergina tikisi panaudoti rašydama disertaciją. Anot Lauros, praktika LTI labai naudinga studentams, besigilinantiems į įvairius teisės mokslo aspektus ir ypač – besidomintiems tarptautine teise.
Pasisemti naudingų žinių
Vilniaus universitete studijuojantis trečiakursis Dainius Nauburaitis ketina savo žinias gilinti baudžiamojoje teisėje, todėl jį sudomino galimybė atlikti praktiką LTI, kurio mokslininkai ypač aktyvūs baudžiamosios teisės srityje. Ir nors vaikinas neturi planų ateityje dirbti mokslinį darbą, LTI sukauptos žinios jam tikrai pravers dirbant teisininko darbą.
„LTI pasirinkau, nes tai viena iš prestižiškiausių mokslo institucijų Lietuvoje. Mane ilgą laiką domino šio instituto veikla, tad sužinojęs apie galimybę atlikti praktiką nedvejodamas susisiekiau“, – pasakoja trečiakursis. Jis džiaugiasi draugiška atmosfera institute, mokslininkų profesionalumu bei lankstumu.
Dainius rekomenduoja LTI atlikti praktiką visiems teisės, kriminologijos bei panašių mokslo šakų studentams, kuriuos domina mokslinė veikla, kurie nori pasisemti žinių, naudingų ne tik tolesnėse studijose, bet ir profesinėje veikloje.

The invitation to undergo traineeship in the Law Institute of Lithuania (hereinafter – LIL) this summer has been accepted by a numerous group of young people – as many as 28 students from various Lithuanian higher schools and a few of them even from the USA. These future professionals will work in different LIL divisions for different periods until the end of this year.
From US – to deepen knowledge
Neringa Liutikaitė has been living in the USA for fifteen years. She has been currently studying political science and French in Washington. This summer she is visiting Lithuania and undergoing traineeship at LIL according to the LISS programme organised by the US Lithuanian community.
“My both parents have accomplished law studies in Lithuania. I am also interested in this field, but there are no bachelor studies of law in the USA,” Neringa says.
She is the trainee at the Legal System Research Department, where she assists Dr. Agnė Limantė in the implementation of the international project.
“So far I am very happy about this traineeship – interesting tasks and everyone so friendly. I feel as if I will have seen a small part of the lawyers’ world. I believe that traineeship at LIL would be useful not only to students of law, but also to those who are simply interested in law or related areas and would like to gain professional experience,” Neringa says.
LIL serves as a springboard for achieving your goals
Laura O’Meara is another trainee from United States. She dreams of becoming a judge at the US Supreme Court. She has been studying in the lawyers’ school in the States and would like to start her career path with the position of a prosecutor; therefore, she has been looking for a possibility to practice in the field of law this summer and thus found herself at the Law Institute of Lithuania.
Practice allows her to deepen knowledge of the differences between Lithuanian and US laws, and the information learned as well as the projects in which Laura has been assisting LIL researchers will result in accumulated knowledge that she expects to use in her thesis. According to Laura, practice in LIL is very useful to students who explore various aspects of the science of law, in particular international law.
Gaining useful knowledge
Dainius Nauburaitis, a third-year student at Vilnius University, intends to deepen his knowledge in criminal law, thus he got interested in traineeship at LIL whose researchers are particularly active in the field of criminal law. Although the young man does not have plans to do research work in the future, the knowledge gained in LIL will be really useful in the lawyer’s job.
“I have chosen LIL because it is one of the most prestigious research institutions in Lithuania. I have been interested in the activities of this institute for long; therefore, as soon as I heard of the possibility of traineeship I contacted the institute without any doubt,” states the third-year student. He appreciates the friendly atmosphere in the institute, the professionalism and flexibility of researchers.
Dainius recommends undergoing traineeship at LIL to all students of law, criminology and similar branches of science who are interested in scientific activities, want to gain knowledge that would be useful in both further studies and professional activity.
