The paper explores the trend of prevalence of the use of intelligence in criminal proceedings in 2015 employing the method of document analysis. The generalized conclusions are the result of the examination of 325 criminal cases selected by a convenient sampling process, which were judged at the first instance by the Vilnius Regional Court and whose convictions became effective in 2015.

The main subject of the article is corruption and lack of transparency in Lithuanian media. In the first part of the article, the phenomenon of media corruption is analysed, including main features of this phenomenon and differences in various countries. Examples of good practice of fighting corruption are analysed as well. The second part of the article is dedicated to Lithuanian experience related to corruption and non-transparent practices in the media sector. Subsequently, according to the analysis of the legal basis and the results of qualitative interviews with experts in the field, the author proposes recommendations concerning suitable measures to prevent corruption in the media sector.

First of all, the article deals with the aspects of the concept of corruption. The article reveals that definitions of corruption established in the Lithuanian legal acts, which are not sufficient to describe the phenomenon of corruption in NGOs: it is limited to definitions of criminal law, which do not cover corruption characteristics specific to the NGO sector.

The participation of drunk drivers in the road traffic and accidents caused by them is one of the major road traffic safety problems in Lithuania. On this account in this article for the scientific analysis the topic of necessity (meaningfulness) of criminalization of the driving a road vehicle under the influence of alcohol in Lithuania has been picked. In the article the state of road traffic safety in Lithuania (viewed from a driving under the influence of alcohol standpoint) is analysed, legal liability that may arise for drunk driving and that is provided for in various legal acts is summarized, the possible criminalization of the driving a road vehicle under the influence of alcohol in Lithuania is considered, as well as other feasible ways of tackling the challenges of drunk driving are discussed.

The article deals with the newly distinguished age group of young adults in the Criminal Code of the Republic of Lithuania. Legal norms foresee the possibility to apply the peculiarities of juvenile criminal responsibility to young adults (18–20 years), when their social maturity is equal to juvenile‘s maturity.
