On the 22nd of October this year<\/strong>, an international conference \u201cArtificial Intelligence and Technology in the Courts\u201d<\/strong> will take place. The remote event will bring together speakers from 19 countries from four continents. Their and fellow researchers\u2019 findings are being published in The Cambridge Handbook of AI and Technologies in Courts<\/strong><\/i>, due out in 2026 by Cambridge University Press. Researchers from Law Institute of the Lithuanian Centre for Social Sciences will present the results of their ongoing research \u201cArtificial Intelligence in Courts: Challenges and Opportunities<\/a>\u201d (TeismAI).<\/p>\n

Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies promise to increase efficiency and accuracy in judicial decision-making but what are the legal risks related to the application of AI tools in courts? With contributions from academics and professional experts on courts and AI, the conference will aim to provide an in-depth look at the social and legal aspects of the AI use in courts in different jurisdictions - Europe, North & South Americas, Asia-Pacific and Africa.<\/p>\n

The conference will be organised remotely via the ZOOM platform in order to allow the widest possible participation of researchers, practitioners and attendees from around the world.<\/p>\n
