Susitikime ES valstybi\u0173 atstovai su EK pareig\u016bnais diskutavo apie Direktyvos \u012fgyvendinim\u0105 j\u0173 \u0161alyse, aptar\u0117, kaip j\u0173 teis\u0117je reguliuojami klausimai, susij\u0119 su teisin\u0117s pagalbos teikimu ir jos kokybe, bei koki\u0173 pakeitim\u0173 pareikalaus tinkamas nacionalin\u0117s teis\u0117s suderinimas su ES direktyva.<\/p>\n

\u0160io projekto tikslas yra parengti teisin\u0117s pagalbos teikimo bei jos kokyb\u0117s u\u017etikrinimo ir kontrol\u0117s gerosios praktikos standartus, tinkamus taikyti visose Europos S\u0105jungos valstyb\u0117se. Parengti standartai\u00a0 bus vie\u0161ai paskelbti \u0161i\u0173 met\u0173 pabaigoje.<\/p>\n

Law Institute of Lithuania (hereinafter \u2013 LIL) researcher Dr Agn\u0117 Limant\u0117 participated in a meeting with experts from the European Union (hereinafter \u2013 EU) Member States that was organised by the European Commission (hereinafter \u2013 EC) in Brussels on the topic of implementation of the Directive on legal aid for suspects and accused persons in criminal proceedings and for requested persons in European arrest warrant proceedings.<\/p>\n
At the meeting, representatives of EU Member States discussed the implementation of the Directive in their countries with EC officials and talked about how issues related to the provision of legal aid and its quality are regulated in their law as well as what changes proper harmonisation of national law with the EU directive will require.<\/p>\n
Dr Limant\u0117 was one of the four speakers at this meeting who presented specific issues related to the quality of legal aid and its control. The LIL researcher presented the QUAL-AID project and its results. Together with partners from Lithuania, Germany and the Netherlands, the LIL is the lead project coordinator in implementing the \u201cEnhancement of Legal Aid Quality: General Standards for Different Systems\u201d project.<\/p>\n
The aim of this project is to prepare best practice standards for the provision of legal aid and its quality assurance and control that are suitable for use in all countries of the European Union. The standards will be made public at the end of this year.<\/p>\n
