A comparative analysis of legal regulations for child support in Lithuania and Slovenia has been published in an international publishing house’s journal

LCSS Law Institute researcher Agnė Limantė, together with her colleague from the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia), Dr. Neža Pogorelčnik Vogrinc, published a chapter in the international yearbook Balkan Yearbook of European and International Law 2024, titled “Ensuring Child Support: Tendencies in Case Law on Maintenance in Slovenia and Lithuania“.

The study, published by the internationally recognized publisher Springer, presents a comparative analysis of case law on child support in Lithuania and Slovenia, taking into account differences between the two legal systems as well as overarching trends. In their comprehensive review, the researchers also examine key aspects of the child support framework, including the interpretation of legal concepts, principles for calculating the amount of support, and other essential issues arising in the application of child maintenance law.

This research makes a targeted contribution to the broader international discourse on the protection of children's rights and legal decision-making practices within European Union countries.
