The article provides an analysis of the international standards, foreign theory and practice relating to parole of life-sentenced persons; a legal and practical situation is presented, and proposals on how it should and could be changed are given.
LIFE IMPRISONMENT PENALTY IN LITHUANIA (I): REFLECTION IN THE CONTEXT OF HUMAN RIGHTS STANDARTS (84)
The article consists of two parts. The first part reveals essential characteristics of life imprisonment based on the most recent jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights (major attention being given to the case of Vinter and Others v. the United Kingdom). The second part of the article provide evaluation whether the penalty of life imprisonment provided for in the laws of Lithuania meets the standards established by the European Court of Human Rights.

PROBLEMS RELATED TO THE USE OF CRIMINAL INTELLIGENCE IN CRIMINAL PROCEEDINGS (98)
Straipsnyje, taikant dokumentų analizės metodą, buvo nagrinėtos žvalgybos informacijos panaudojimo baudžiamajame procese 2015 m. paplitimo tendencijos. Apibendrinančios išvados suformuluotos išnagrinėjus patogiosios atrankos būdu atrinktas 325 baudžiamąsias bylas, kurias pirmąja instancija nagrinėjo Vilniaus apygardos teismas ir kuriose nuosprendžiai įsiteisėjo 2015 metais. Analizės duomenys atskleidė, jog 2015 m. pasireiškė nepagrįstai didelė neatitiktis tarp sankcionuotų kriminalinės žvalgybos veiksmų (priemonių, metodų) skaičiaus ir jų pagrindu gautų duomenų atspindėjimo baudžiamosiose bylose.
CORRUPTION AND MEDIA SECTOR: CORRUPTION PREVENTION VIA STRENGTHENING PRESS FREEDOM (97)
The article analyses the impact of press freedom on corruption in mass-media sector in particular and in society in general. In order to achieve this goal, relevant scientific literature and most important empirical research on the subject were analysed.
CORRUPTION AND LACK OF TRANSPARENCY IN LITHUANIAN MEDIA (96)
The main subject of the article is corruption and lack of transparency in Lithuanian media. In the first part of the article, the phenomenon of media corruption is analysed, including main features of this phenomenon and differences in various countries. Examples of good practice of fighting corruption are analysed as well. The second part of the article is dedicated to Lithuanian experience related to corruption and non-transparent practices in the media sector. Subsequently, according to the analysis of the legal basis and the results of qualitative interviews with experts in the field, the author proposes recommendations concerning suitable measures to prevent corruption in the media sector.
CORRUPTION IN ELECTIONS: ANALYSIS OF VOTER BRIBERY CASES (95)
The article deals with voter bribery cases in terms of electoral law. A particular focus of research is drawn on the factual situation of this phenomenon of political corruption in Lithuania.
CORRUPTION IN NON GOVERNMENTAL SECTOR: POLITICAL CORRUPTION IN ACTIVITIES OF CHARITY AND SUPPORT FUNDS (94)
First of all, the article deals with the aspects of the concept of corruption. The article reveals that definitions of corruption established in the Lithuanian legal acts, which are not sufficient to describe the phenomenon of corruption in NGOs: it is limited to definitions of criminal law, which do not cover corruption characteristics specific to the NGO sector.
