Pradėtas įgyvendinti „Dvynių“ programos projektas Turkijoje „Žandarmerijos centrinės vadovybės pagalbos moterims ir vaikams padalinių organizacinių gebėjimų didinimas“.

Ta proga surengtas projekto partnerių susitikimas Ankaroje, kuriame buvo aptartos artimiausios projekto veiklos, nubrėžtos gairės ir sutarta dėl bendradarbiavimo principų. Susitikimuose tarp projekto partnerių iš Lietuvos dalyvavo ir Lietuvos teisės instituto (LTI) direktorė Jurgita Paužaitė-Kulvinskienė.

Nuo 2018 m. kovo LTI kartu su partneriais įgyvendina Europos Sąjungos „Dvynių“ programos projektą Turkijoje „Žandarmerijos centrinės vadovybės pagalbos moterims ir vaikams padalinių organizacinių gebėjimų didinimas“, kurio tikslas – didinti žandarmerijos centrinės vadovybės pagalbos moterims ir vaikams padalinių organizacinius gebėjimus teikiant pagalbą moterims ir vaikams, nukentėjusiems nuo smurto, taip pat mažinant smurtą artimoje aplinkoje.

For two years, a team of LIL researchers and specialists from the Lithuanian Police Department, together with experts from Latvia, Estonia and Slovenia, will assist the Turkish Gendarmerie in developing a communication strategy that will help to discourage tolerance for violence and promote a civil response to violence against children and women, as well as cooperation between the public and the Gendarmerie in addressing this issue.

The Twinning project entitled “Increasing the Organizational Capacity of the Women and Children Sections of the Gendarmerie General Command” has been launched in Turkey.

A meeting of project partners has been organised in Ankara, focused on the nearest activities of the project, the outline of the guidelines and the agreement on cooperation principles. Jurgita Paužaitė-Kulvinskienė, Director of the Law Institute of Lithuania (hereinafter – LIL), represented Lithuania at the meeting of project partners.

From March 2018, LIL together with partners has been implementing the European Union Twinning programme project in Turkey entitled “Increasing the Organizational Capacity of the Women and Children Sections of the Gendarmerie General Command”. The project is aimed at enhancing the organizational capacity of the Women and Children Sections of the Gendarmerie General Command when providing assistance to women and children victims of violence and reducing domestic violence.

For two years, the team of specialists from the Lithuanian Police Department and researchers from the Law Institute of Lithuania together with experts from Latvia, Estonia and Slovenia will help the Turkish gendarmerie to develop a communication strategy aimed at promoting intolerance to violence, civil reaction towards violence against children and women, cooperation between society and gendarmerie while tackling this issue.
