Facial Recognition Technologies in the Activities of State Public Institutions and Human Rights in the European Union
The dissertation seeks to analyse the interplay between the legal frameworks governing the use of facial recognition technologies in the public sectors of the selected states and the relevant European Union regulatory provisions, in light of core human rights protection standards. Drawing on practical examples of the application of these technologies and the legal risks associated with their use (including their management), the research aims to propose potential solutions to the tensions that arise between the respective regulatory systems.
