The project team consists of Dr. Rūta Vaičiūnienė and Goda Šleinotaitė, who will evaluate the effectiveness of the anger management programme in prisons, the qualification of the programme's implementers, and the motivation of participants to engage in psycho-educational activities.
Anger management programme - this is a psycho-educational programme for offenders who have committed violent crimes. The programme is based on the principles of anger management, cognitive behavioural theory and motivational interviewing to teach new skills and competences. The programme consists of individual and group sessions lasting between 12 and 20 weeks, depending on the intensity of attendance. The programme can be applied both in prison and during probation. In Lithuania, the Anger Management Programme was launched for offenders in the second half of 2022 in prisons of the Lithuanian Prison Service and in the territorial units of the Lithuanian Probation Service and is delivered by 18 trained staff.
The aim of the project is to show the impact of the behavioural correction programme on participants' behaviour. The aim is to assess the effectiveness of the behavioural correctional programme from the point of view of both the participant and the trained staff.
