We invite you to participate in the LA CHILD roundtable discussion

On November 15-20, 2021, a cycle of free virtual events for children’s justice will take place. The World Congress on justice with children aims to promote children's rights and to exchange practical guidance strategies to promote equal treatment of children, thus reducing discrimination and ensuring justice for all children.

The World Congress is open to policy makers, academics, legal professionals, civil society representatives, active citizens and children. By taking part in the World Congress you will gain knowledge on children rights, and be part of a vibrant community of professionals and activists. This year, the Congress is Free of charge and participants will receive a certificate of attendance.

On 17th November 2021 (14:00 - 15:30 CET) we invite you to participate in one of the events of the World Congress - round table discussion "Making child-friendly legal aid a reality – learnings and outputs from the LA Child project". This workshop will present the main conclusions and tools developed in the framework of the European project "Legal aid for children in criminal proceedings: developing and sharing best practices" LA CHILD, touching on legal aid for children in criminal proceedings.

Session will take place at Europe regional plenary, Block A, Workshop A4. This session is organized by the Law Institute of the Lithuania Centre for Social Sciences with partners from Belgium (Defence for Children (DCI-Belgium)) and Albania (Center of Integrated Legal Services and Practices (CILSP)).

Session will be moderated by member UN Committee on the Rights of the Child Benoit Van Keirsbilck. Panelists: Consultant at PILnet Giulia Patane, Advocacy officer and Child Justice project officer, DCI Belgium Eva Gangneux, lawyer Adrian Visha, Chief researcher at the Law Institute of the Lithuanian Centre for Social Sciences Agnė Limantė.
