International scientific-practical conference discussing the problems and challenges of changing domestic violence behaviour

[:lt]

The research „Changes in Domestic Violent Behaviour: Perspectives for Developing Work with Perpetrators at Institutional and Communal Levels“ (SMEAK), conducted by the team of researchers of the Law Institute of the Lithuanian Centre for Social Sciences (hereinafter – LCSS LI), has revealed that Lithuania lacks a unified institutional approach towards the domestic violence correction, as well as multi-agency cooperation. It has been found that the provision of social and psychological services, seeking to change the behaviour of perpetrators, is insufficient throughout Lithuania. There is also an absence of coherence, systematic approach and continuity in the provision of socio-psychological services provided to perpetrators.

The international scientific-practical online conference will review in details the results of the project and present practical recommendations for the Lithuanian Probation Service and other interested institutions that were reached in relation to the research. There will also be an unique opportunity to learn about the experience and good practise examples from the foreign speakers (USA, UK, Poland) and the European Network for Perpetrators of Domestic Violence. At the end of the event representatives of various Lithuanian institutions and organizations are invited to join a round-table discussion and share their ideas on this matter.

Conference date  – November 30th, 2021.

Renginys vyks lietuvių ir anglų k. su sinchroniniu vertimu į pasirinktą kalbą.
